Etienne Zerah was born in 1977 in a small city next to Genoa; from his earliest years the inclination to drawing is evident and therefore he chooses the School of Arts Paul Klee, against his parent's expectations. Hereafter he begins to develop the inspiration and the creativity he has before; experimenting with many materials he refines his art studies and his previous works, all characterized by a tidy and accurate stroke. E z is very interested in visual communication and in the equilibrium and the purity of the images. After five years' studies, he is ready to tackle the Fine Art Academy with a much more conscious new spirit, a new name and a new interest: the photography. The artist's identity was born in the Academy, as an icon with a strong meaning like his own works. "Army" (The Army of Art) is the academic thesis name that contains the first real works. From drawing to graphic studies and from painting to photography, he constantly focuses his attention on the human being, with particular care to the human body figure that, harshly at time, alwais stand out in the coated and elegant expressions of his works. Etienne Zerah can include in his curriculum many graphic, pictorial and photographic orders, competition wins, exhibitions and publications. Etienne Zerah nasce nel 1977 in provincia di Genova, sin dai primi anni è evidente l'attitudine al disegno e all’arte, la quale si concretizza nella scelta del Liceo Artistico Paul Klee, con indirizzo grafico/visivo. Si laurea al corso di pittura all’Accademia Ligustica di Belle Arti, dove si affina la passione per la fotocostruzione digitale e segue un laboratorio esterno di grafica web e Photoshop. Army [The Army of Art] è il titolo della tesi accademica contenente le prime vere opere. Nel 2002 inaugura l’Academia Studium, un atelier di produzioni artistiche con la collega scultrice Federica Montaldo, creando per lo più copie di quadri ad olio su commissione. Ma è nel 2004 che debutta nell’ambito delle gallerie partecipando all’evento Riparte, X fiera d’arte contemporanea internazionale, sostenuto dalla galleria Passo Blu. Seguono numerose esposizioni personali e collettive in diverse gallerie e location in Italia e nel 2007 nasce il rapporto con la Werkstattgalerie di Berlino, che lo pubblica nell’annuario fotografico Mein Schwules Auge 5. Nel 2008 inizia la collaborazione col cantante Thoni Sorano, il frutto è la performance multimediale Help The Child Within, che viene presentata a Berlino al teatro Tacheles. Nel 2009 entra a far parte degli artisti di Violabox Gallery, che promuove l’esposizione personale Paladin, evento ufficiale del Genova Pride 09.
