THE BLACK TIMES
THIS SMALL SERIES IS NECESSARILY BORN FROM A CONCEPT, IN FACT THESE ARE THREE WORKS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR AN EXPOSURE WITH THEME 'THE BOX' WHICH WAS A CASE, A TUNNEL, A UTERUS, SOMETHING THAT CONTAINS SOMETHING ELSE. FROM THESE TERMS I HAVE DEVELOPED THE IDEA AND VISUALIZED THE TRILOGY, ESTABLISHED BY THE THREE PRINTS MOUNTED BETWEEN TWO PLEXIGLASS BOLTED PANELS. SUBJECTS ARE A SELFSHOT, THE SCULPTRESS FEDERICA MONTALDO AND A FRIEND, REPRESENTED LIKE BEINGS COME TO LIGHT FROM A VISCERAL AN UNDERGROUND WORLD. THE LOGO SIGNING THE PHOTOS IS IS A CLEAR TRIBUTE TO JOSEPH BEUYS, WITH WHOM I SHARE THE PASSION FOR CROSSES AND MASS SYMBOLS.

IN THE SELFSHOT THIS IS REPRESENTED BY A LEATHER SEPIA APPLIED ON THE FACE, WHILE IN THE LEONORA'S PORTRAIT IT'S A GREAT BLACK FLOWER IN HER HAIR.
